Ligue 1 Club Ready to Trigger Hugo Oliveira Release Clause

RC Strasbourg Alsace are rapidly finalizing their search for a new manager following the departure of Gary O'Neil. While candidates like Kjetil Knutsen have fallen out of contention and Wilfried Nancy remains in the frame, Portuguese strategist Hugo Oliveira has suddenly emerged as the frontrunner for the vacant managerial position at the French club.

The 47-year-old manager is currently under contract with Portuguese side Famalicao until 2028, but Strasbourg are prepared to trigger his release clause. The transfer deal is expected to cost the Ligue 1 outfit approximately 4 million euros to secure his services ahead of the upcoming domestic campaign.

Oliveira has built a strong reputation in European football, recently guiding Famalicao to an impressive fifth-place finish in the Primeira Liga. Club officials at Strasbourg view his tactical flexibility and developmental approach as the ideal profile to lead the team into their next chapter.

Before stepping into frontline management, Oliveira gained extensive high-level experience as a trusted assistant coach under Marco Silva. His impressive coaching resume includes significant spells in the English Premier League and Championship with clubs such as Fulham, Everton, Watford, and Hull City.
