Saudi Pro League Swoop as Al-Khaleej Secure Fulgini Transfer
French midfielder Angelo Fulgini has officially parted ways with Ligue 1 outfit RC Lens to embark on a new chapter in Saudi Arabia with Al-Khaleej. The 29-year-old playmaker was granted an early release from his contract, which was originally set to run for another year, allowing him to complete the move to the Middle East as a free agent.
Fulgini originally joined the Sang et Or in January 2023 from Bundesliga side Mainz for a transfer fee of 7.2 million euros. During his tenure with RC Lens, the dynamic midfielder made 82 competitive appearances, contributing six goals and four assists before heading out on a temporary loan spell to Saudi side Al-Taawoun last season.

The French club confirmed the departure through an official club statement on Thursday, noting that they had mutually agreed to terminate the player's remaining contract. "The club has released the midfielder from his contractual commitments," RC Lens announced, paving the way for his immediate registration with Al-Khaleej.
This tactical squad reduction allows RC Lens to significantly lower their wage bill ahead of the upcoming Ligue 1 campaign. By trimming Fulgini's substantial salary from their finances, the club secures vital breathing room in the transfer market as they look to reshape their squad for domestic and European qualification battles.
