The former world number 21 recently announced that this year's championships at the All England Club would mark the end of his professional tennis career. The Lawn Tennis Association and tournament organizers faced immediate backlash following the wildcard announcement for the tournament, which starts on July 29. Maylin slammed the tournament committee, stating "I think you are completely pathetic, the members of Wimbledon are absolute rubbish. I remind you that this guy sacrificed himself for your country to participate in the Olympics, I find it pathetic."
