The French Joint Committee has validated a definitive sports law following intense political debates, shaking up the hierarchy of domestic football governance. While some club executives welcomed the structural reforms, a powerful opposing camp led by LFP president Vincent Labrune heavily contested the decision.
The crucial aspect of the legislation, Article 8, directly targets potential conflicts of interest within the LFP board by prohibiting executives from simultaneously holding positions in broadcasting companies.
